Adaptive Exercise Stim Sleeve

The Adaptive Exercise Stim Sleeve is a device that was developed by the vehiCLE team as a solution to better organize stimulation cables during adaptive, stimulation based exercise.  Previously, up to 16 cables would hang loosely from the participant, creating potential for disconnection, wire damage, and tripping hazards.

Our design uses thigh sleeves with sewed in pockets to remove excess slack.  The input cables are bundled together so that there is only one cable coming into each sleeve, and the pockets are oreinted so that the stimulation pads are located in the correct anatomical area.

This design was created in house and has been tested in adaptive exercise settings in Cleveland.

Next Steps:
The Adaptive Exercise Stim Sleeve will continue to be tested and replicated for other sites to use.  It will also be considered for other applications in stimulation based exercise.
