Assistive Dispenser for Single-use eye drop vials

The Assistive Dispenser for Single-use Eye Drop Vials was developed by the San Francisco VA. The goals for VehiCLE were to improve ergonomics, manufacturability, and function

The current design features ergonomic finger impressions and curves to fit into the user's hand. The device is usable with either hand, and provides a wide lower orbital contact for alignment.  The vials fit snugly into the holder so that they do not fall out during use.

This desing is currenltly 3D printed in one step.  It is simple and inexpensive.  In the future, this could be molded and mass produced.  The plastic is durable and light weight and the overall process is simle and intuitive.  This device should assist users with limited dexterity to align and use single use vial eye drops.

Next Steps:
The Assistive Dispenser for Single-use eye drop vials is being reviewed by industry partners currently.  Some small adaptations are being considered and designed as well.
