Vi Huynh, MHA joined the APT Center in 2014 as the Director of Operations. He is responsible for operational and fiscal oversight of the Center and its administrative staff and the investigators' combined research programs by managing inter-institutional relationships. He has over 10 years of practice and operations management in clinical and research healthcare environments.
Jennifer Kerbo
Medical Illustrator
Administrative Assistant
Jennifer Kerbo, BFA joined the APT Center in 2018 and is responsible for working with investigators to illustrate research graphics used for medical/scientific media, grant publications, and poster presentations. She applies the latest techniques and understanding of medicine to visually communicate new clinical and scientific information to biomedical engineers, physicians, and lay audiences. In addition, she provides administrative support and other program support functions.
Cathryn Naples
Procurement Technician
Cathryn Naples joined the APT Center in 2013, but has been a part of the VA in research since 2000. She handles purchasing and contracting for the APT Center and Research Department members.
Rebecca Polito
Technical Writer
Coordinator of Veteran Engagement
Rebecca Polito, MS joined the APT Center in 2016. She provides assistance editing and finalizing original manuscripts and grant proposals including, but not limited to, VA, DoD, NIH, and Foundation awards. Ms. Polito has over 10 years of experience in academic, military and healthcare research at varying levels, primarily in psychophysiology and medical device technology. She handles all public relations for APT and works closely with Public Affairs personnel at the VA and CWRU to ensure the APT Center and its Investigators are well represented in the media. Ms. Polito is also the new liaison with local and national Veteran Service Organizations to educate them about APT Center research programs and solicit feedback about Veteran needs that can help direct the Center’s research mission. Ms. Polito is a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
Jennifer Wall
Regulatory Affairs Specialist
Jennifer Wall, PAHM, CCRP joined the APT Center in 2010. She developed a system which addresses specific regulatory issues affecting the APT Center's research, development, and investigation of medical devices. She maintains a cohesive regulatory documentation and monitoring system to meet regulatory guidelines. The scope of her responsibility includes medical systems developed for investigational device study through systems under clinical study for premarket approval. Ms. Wall interfaces directly with the FDA and local IRBs as necessary. She also works very closely with the Quality Systems Specialist.
Frank Zitko
Technical Innovation Specialist
Frank Zitko, BS joined the APT Center in 2018. His duties include providing project management and engineering support to APT Investigators and staff as they seek to improve the lives of Veterans through new, innovative medical devices and technology. His role also expands into the national VA level where he represents the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in the VA Innovation Center. He supports an interconnected network of innovative employees that help pilot and spread innovations across the Veterans Health Administration. Frank received his B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University in 2011 and brings over 6 years of engineering experience in the medical device industry.
