APT Center

Investigators

The APT Center is a catalyst for initiating and sustaining productive interactions between clinicians, consumers and engineers who had not previously applied their specialized knowledge and technical expertise to rehabilitation-related problems.  This infusion of new investigators in the areas of biomaterials and microsystem design, fabrication, packaging and communication represents a critical mass of over 19 investigators dedicated to developing technologies to serve disabled veterans that would not otherwise exist.  Our 'platform,' therefore, is as much an approach as a physical device.  It is a method for matching emerging technologies with high priority clinical needs, building transdisciplinary collaborative teams composed of investigators named here to successfully translate initial concept to a medical device ready for clinical application.
